About us
Who would ever guess all those years ago in 1994 that when Frank Girardeau found some pressure treated lumber at a yard sale upstate and built a stage in the back yard with advice from Carver Blanchard,
the seeds of a fruitful decades long project would begin? One which would continue to contribute to the Arts and Cultural life of Greene County these many years later.
Our Mission
To celebrate the work of Horton Foote, new voices and classic American plays with quality performances for the people of Greene County, NY and the region.
Our Values
We have the highest respect for our work, the work of the writers, and artists who contribute to our mission.
Nestled in the Catskill forest, our summer retreat has provided actors and audiences alike a common sanctuary to explore and enjoy some quiet moments of reflection & immersion into the world of Horton Foote.

PRODUCTIONS OVER THE YEARS
My Pique-Nique with Maude opens our season this year and we are including a screening of the classic film My Dinner with Andre, which served as one of the inspirations for our pique-nique.
Maude Mitchell and Janet Girardeau collaborated to create our opening piece, it is a dialogue between friends and a journey paved with love, heartbreak, grief and hope.
This is the first time ever that we have done a New Play Project. For those of you who have been with us from year one you will remember we did have a Woman Playwrights Series in the beginning but the new plays were through a different lens. We are looking forward to sharing our First Looks with you.
